MAP Configuration Non-Microsoft and Non-Google Accounts

This article provides guidance for configuring Non-MS Office 365/MS Outlook/EWS/Gmail accounts using the Web email Configuration page in Smart Capture. IMAP is the only option for this setup.

In our example below we are using a Yahoo email account with an application password. This is a secondary password that will be required for Yahoo to know the account is being used for a specific application. Other email companies may require this. If an account that you configure is not able to login with the primary password (such as with AWS), it’s very possible the email account will require this application password (which is also known as a secondary password).

To get started, login to Smart Capture as an administrator and select Admin Panel. Select Email Input on the left hand side. Next click the "Add new email" button and choose "Other" from the dropdown.

The email configuration screen pops up to allow for configuration of the email account: Mail Server; Port (993); SSL Connection Checked; Email address and Password (this password may be required to be a secondary password for the account, not the main password, which is often referred to as an application password in some platforms). Once the items are provided on the Email configuration page, click next.

Once successful, another Email Configuration screen will display that is similar to the Email Input application with an advanced options button below. Review each section and choose the desired values to set up how the email input will be monitoring and which mailbox folder to monitor.

Once all items are reviewed and the desired values/checkboxes are chosen/unchosen, click Save. When successful, the email configuration will display in the Email Input Configuration page.
