Creating and Amending Nominal and Management code relationships

Caroline Buckland Updated by Caroline Buckland

The process

Relationships between the nominal and management codes should be defined.  The relationship could be set to automatic in which case any valid management code can be used with the nominal.

A manual setting would require a list of valid management codes to be set up in the Chart of Accounts.

A blank setting signifies that the management code may not be used with the nominal.

Additionally, analysis code requirements may be defined as optional, mandatory or not to be used (rejected).

If you have created manual relationships the following steps are required to create or amend those relationships.

Example data: the Nominal used in this example has a Manual relationship to code ID A which is a cost centre in this company.
